Wifi connection is also available.
All our bedrooms offer en-suite facilities and are beautifully presented with a strong Scottish theme. Two of the rooms, “State Room” and the “MacDonald Suite”, have four-poster beds, and all have T.V. and tea making facilities. All rooms enjoy far reaching southerly views across the town and towards the hills at Glenshellach and Soroba.
Each morning you are greeted with a hearty breakfast with a varied menu served in the guest dining room.
The southerly aspect landscaped garden with a Gazebo surrounded by lush “sub tropical” plants give ample opportunities to find plenty of private areas to relax and unwind.
Oban, the gateway to the Isles with ferries leaving for the island of Mull every two hours, Oban nestles in its own bonnie bay with its bustling harbour and shops. The name Oban comes from the Gaelic language meaning “little bay”. The pipers of Oban regularly play traditional Scottish music around the harbour area and will be delighted to pose for a photograph for your holiday collection. Experience the magic of Oban, especially at sun set, when the sun slides into the western horizon. Oban has one of the oldest distilleries in Scotland, not only does the distillery produce a 14 year old single malt named after the town,it also hosts a popular visitor’s centre.
There are a wealth of restaurants and cafes with excellent local seafood readily available.
Glencruitten Golf Club is close at hand, and walkers will find the surrounding countryside offers plenty of good walks.
The Oban area abounds with many forms of wildlife. Sea Eagles, Golden Eagles, Otters, Pine Martens, Red Squirrels, can all be found along side more common species such as Seals, Dolphins and numerous water birds like the Black Guillemots that nest along the harbour wall. Take the ferries to one of the Inner Hebridean Islands and look for the elusive Corncrake, its main stronghold in Britain. April – May being the best time to look for them.
Caledonian Macbrayne ferries leave Oban for the Inner Hebridean Islands of Mull, Coll, Tiree, Lismore & Islay, and some of the Outer Herbridean Islands of Barra and South Uist.
Enjoy a day trip to Mull or one of the other islands and experience the pace of life most of us dream of.
