With seven en-suite bedrooms and a private car park it has become a popular stopping place for locals, tourists and business people alike looking for good food and comfortable and inexpensive accommodation. Over the years our team of chefs have gained recognition from both the AA and Good Food Guides for their outstanding cuisine. Berties serves modern, fresh, honest food with Mediterranean influences ranging from simple freshly made pasta to the finest fillet steak... Lunch may feature Chicken Caesar salad, a luxury bacon & brie baguette, pan seared scallops, Berties famous fishcakes or perhaps something from our specials board with fresh fish a speciality. Vegetarians and people with specific dietary needs are very well catered for. If you want something a little simpler our fixed price set menus are available Monday - Friday lunch and dinner and represent great value with 2 courses from £9.95.

We have a cosy courtyard with a small fountain and dominated by a beautiful passion flower across one wall, the perfect spot for summer lunches. The walls throughout the restaurant, courtyard and bedrooms are adorned with the works of Winchester artist Jenny Muncaster. Her contemporary style of food-art blending perfectly with the surroundings be it painting of a bottle of champagne or perhaps a vase of flowers, the style is unique to Berties! Our young team are both cheerful and efficient and have gained a reputation for offering a warm welcome in a relaxed and informal atmosphere. We have a beautiful private dining room which is ideal for any small meetings or dinner parties up to 36. This room is used for weddings, christenings, conferences or simply as restaurant on weekend evenings. Accommodation We offer three star accommodation right in the heart of Romsey. Our comfortable guest rooms are all en-suite. We have two singles, three doubles, one twin and one family room. All of our rooms are equipped with en-suite bathroom and shower, television and tea and coffee making facilities. We hope that you will visit us soon and enjoy dinner with us and perhaps even stay as well. Don't be alarmed however if you hear creaking floorboards or whispers in the corridor. Rather than ghosts or women from the workshops it is more likes to be our staff returning from a late night out.
