Backways is a characterful old farmhouse with spacious rooms and large modern en-suites. Guests have their own sitting room with wood-burning stove and are welcome to enjoy the garden and views.

Only 3 miles from M5 J26, we are an ideal central base for the north and south coasts, Taunton, Exeter, Somerset Levels, Quantocks and Exmoor with the Blackdown Hills only a short ramble away. We are at the crossroads of two public footpaths and can help with local walks.

Clear view of the Wellington monument one way and our cobbled courtyard the other with swallows darting about in summer. Whether you just want to relax or hit the sights, we would be delighted to welcome you into our home.

Bedroom 1 is truly a room with a view, looking straight out across farmland to the Blackdown Hills with the Wellington Monument on top.

Spacious and comfortably furnished with colour TV, tea and coffee making facilities and a huge new shower room en-suite.

Bedroom 2 overlooks the cobbled courtyard and vegetable plot with our visiting swallows usually zooming about from May to September as they nest in the outbuildings.

Your own colour TV, tea and coffee and another large en-suite shower room await you.

Bedroom 3 looks out across the garden and is furnished as a twin room with plenty of space and comfortable chairs. This room comes with its own large private bathroom just across the landing.

A good free range breakfast is served in your sitting room downstairs which also has comfy sofas and a rustic fireplace complete with woodburning stove for those cooler nights in winter.

Outside, you are welcome to ramble around or sit in the garden and enjoy the views and open skies (feel free to do some gardening too!). Or since the farmhouse is situated at the crossroads of 2 public footpaths, you could strike out further afield in any direction.
