Keswick is only 18 miles from the M6, but a world away from the ever increasing pace of the rat race. Here you can relax and enjoy the contrasting attractions of a lively holiday town and the magnificent surrounding landscape, where even at the height of the season you can still find peace and tranquillity. The town itself, on the northern shores of Derwentwater, has many attractions - museums and galleries, fascinating shops for browsing or buying, and restaurants and cafes offering everything from chips to cordon bleu! Watersports, golf and pony trekking are just a few of the activities to enjoy in the natural beauty of Keswick's surrounding countryside, with tuition available in many cases.
For those who prefer a less energetic holiday, there are regular boat trips and bus tours, and the area boasts many fine houses and gardens, several with interesting literary and historical connections. In other words, something for everyone, all the year round!
