Things to do The area offers a wealth of things to do including fishing, golf, walking and cycling in the New Forest and on National Trust Trails. Mottisfont Abbey, which is owned by the National Trust, is within walking distance of the cottage. The historic cities of Winchester andSalisbury are a short drive away. Nearby the smaller picturesque market town of Romsey offers a good range of shops and restaurants and Romsey Abbey is well worth a visit. The South Coast is 30 minutes away. The Test Valley is renowned for some of the finest chalk stream fishing in the world. There are many opportunities to fish in and around the area from some of the best beats on the River Test to other less well known rivers providing fantastic sport. There are also many lakes in the area including Holbury Lakes in Lockerley just 1.5 miles away. Fishing can easily be arranged, indeed Charlie is a keen fisherman himself so do not hesitate to ask.

directions From the A303 exit at the A34 junction following signs to Stockbridge A30. Once in Stockbridge follow signs for Romsey B3057 pass through King Somborne after approximately 3 miles turn right opposite The Bear and Ragged Staff pub sign posted to Kimbridge. Follow the lane until the end and turn right sign posted to Dunbridge. Proceed into the village at The Mill Arms pub turn left towards Lockerley. We are 300 yards on the left a white cottage set back from the road. From Romsey follow signs for Stockbridge B3057 and turn left at The Bear and Ragged Staff pub then follow as above.
