Families often come to Bridlington for fun together. One of the popular stops is Bridlington Leisure World. Here visitors can enjoy a unique swimming experience. There are several different types of pools and waterslides for the family to enjoy. If you or your kids don't know how to swim, have no fear Leisure World has an extensive swimming lessons program that takes place in the learner pool. There is more than just water slides as well. Leisure World is home to many slides, wave pools and even a "rain storm" effect. There is even a small theatre, bar, indoor bowling and a fitness center on sit for visitors to enjoy.
Another popular stop is Bayside Pleasure Park. Here you can find many different types of funfair rides. With carousels, waltzes, mini wheel, a "sky flyer" and aqua blasters it's a one stop fun and adventure.
Golfers aren't left out here. The Bridlington Golf club offers players a cliff top eighteen-hole challenge. This 72 par course has beautiful views, driving range and a short nine-hole course as well. For avid golfers it is a must stop.
A great place to go for a variety of events is The Spa Bridlington. Not so much a spa as it is a recreational place; The Spa is home to many exhibitions, dancing, drama, concerts, and more. The Spa can be hired for private functions as well. The Spa originated in 1896 and was replaced in 1926 after the East Riding of Yorkshire Council purchased the original hall.
A fun stop for many families is the Old Penny Memories. Here families can enjoy the history and color of a fully operating penny arcade. These penny slot machines, which span many centuries, are for entertainment purposes only and some even offer a small gift in return for a penny. These historic machines give visitors lots of enjoyment as they have for years.
For those that are interested in some of the history of the town of Bridlington should visit the Bayle Museum. Originally the gatehouse for the Bridlington Priory in the 14th century, the museum was believed to be built in the twelfth century. Today visitors can see a multitude of collections including life size figures, scale models, listening posts and interactive games. It's a great way for visitors to learn the history of Bridlington and the surrounding area.
There is plenty for visitors to do and enjoy during their stay.
