The small port town of Bideford was settled around the 13th century. It is not just about the port in this little town but it's also the site of the last hangings for witchcraft in England. Here you can see the sheep dog trials where a man and his dog will herd a group of sheep around and into a holding pen. Seldom is said by the man, only short orders and hand signals to the dog. This amazing display of training and coordination is an awesome site to see. There are other herding trials to see, sometimes instead of the sheep you will get to see the dogs herding ducks. You and your kids can also enjoy the amusement of sheep shearing and sheep racing. There are few things more amusing than seeing jockeys and sheep tearing around the track.
