Founded by the Vikings and was the sight of a famous battle is the town of Largs. Largs has grown from a simple village to a popular seaside resort. With so much surf, sun, and other areas of fun, this resort is a good trek for families.
Since it is a seaport, the sea is probably where you'll head when you get to town. There are a variety of water sports for you and your family. If you enjoy diving, then there is no shortage of diving areas. You can also enjoy windsurfing, fishing and angling. There is plenty to do in the sun and surf.
If you want the fun of the sun without being on the water there are still plenty of things to do outside. You can play some football or even enjoy a rousing game of badminton or tennis. There are also three golf courses, and several grass bowling clubs. If you want indoor bowling alleys then you can do that. If you are into horses, then you can enjoy some horseback riding. Largs has it all.
Thanks to its Viking heritage there is plenty of Viking exhibits to see. Heading over to the Vikingar! you will get to see a wonderful collection of these Viking artifacts. You can also take a nice swim in their pool.
If you are interested in some put-put golf then you can find plenty of these opportunities. It's a good way to find out if the kids are better than you at crazy golf, or if you are still supreme. Other family ventures include an array of fair raids and amusement arcades. Then head to the Dip 'n' Doodle to fix your own personalized souvenir, here you can paint something special at their potter studio.
Other outdoor activities include a variety of parks. You can wander the parks to relax and enjoy the scenery. There are also a variety of walks through the town. The Pencil Walk is a simple 1 ¼ mile walk while the Douglas Park and Castel Hill is a slightly harder walk at three miles. The Brisbane Glen and Knockhill Walk is also a medium difficulty walk. For a harder more invigorating walk try the Greeto Falls and Bridge Walk. At only 2 ½ miles the walk is more difficult than anything else.
Largs is a seaport of family fun. You can enjoy all of the sun and sea while taking in all the heritage of the Vikings.
